Partner!!! Happy 2021 Ly, I hope you and the family are very well, I’m missing you all!!

As I was working on Revival’s taxes I had the idea to pair our K1’s with a year-in-review to give you a quick look at what’s happening with the company. Here’s a couple one-two things we’ve gotten done in the last year:

1 Crushed the film game

I took 2020 to get good at cameras. The results led to shoots with:

WBUR - NPR’s News Station

7X Platinum Artist Billy Gilman

Grammy Nominated Artist Mohamed Araki

15X Boston Music Award-Nominated Artists and Venues

Boston Public Schools

House of Blues

The trailer above is a teaser of our new film reel—all the shots are my own! You can watch the full cut and our other short films at www.RevivalhouseRecords.com/film

I’ve started filming commercials and documentary-style films as well, and have plans for original narrative animated shorts in 2021. We’ll hit the film festival circuit the following year!

2 Monetized In-House Music

In 2020 my music was picked up by Pop-Up Music Group, a UK-based Publishing company that did the last Tarantino movie and regularly places songs on Netflix, Amazon, and tradition television outlets.

Revival also partnered with Concord Music Group, one of the biggest publishing companies in the world. Concord owns the rights to catalogues from massive artists like Bruno Mars, Phil Collins, George Harrison, and Rogers and Hammerstein. They got in touch after hearing an arrangement of “White Christmas” I made for satellite radio.

Radio revenue from Sirius XM began picking up by the end of 2020. Now one song produced for XM can generate thousands of dollars in royalty income. I’ve placed the last four songs I’ve produced within the first three months of this year.

3 Moved on from Live Performance

By the end of 2019 I was touring internationally as the keys player, musical director and tour manager for Grammy-nominated Billy Gilman (#2 on NBC’s “The Voice”), along with my own band Dead Messengers, a country group signed and sponsored by Bud Light, and other groups.

The exposure was good for the brand and the company coffers, but in 2020 I quit it all to focus exclusively on Revival’s own in-house music and film. The move’s paid off with high-profile shoots and monetized original programming.

I finished my legacy record (check it out in the link below), and there will be many more made in 2021and beyond. I’m focused on expanding Revival’s royalty collection, continuing to monetize our original programming, and on making in-roads that will lead to Grammy-winning records and feature films. Art meets commerce!
